Roar
This naughty faerie has been teasing her lion friend. I've pestered my annoying cat, but she's a lot less harmless than a big lion like that guy! She knows she can fly off to safety in less than an instant. I think the Lion kinda liked the attention though...
Faeries do have a good sense of humour. Lions - do not. They're too busy being proud, lazy and bossy. Not the lioness is the female of the lions! She does the hunting and looks after the babies - cubs. He doesn't do much... I suppose that's why we call him the "King"! Lions hang out in small groups we call 'Prides'. They always look like they're just lazing around when you see them on TV, unless you see them hunting! It must be good to be King!
Can you tell I like cats, and Lions? This is one of the paintings in my Faerie series. It's painted in oils on an 18" x 24" canvas.

Christmas Faerie 2008
This year I wanted to paint a Christmas Faerie in action. I wanted to create something with some contrast and depth. I like this one way better than last year's faerie, mostly because she's doing what faeries do best... lighting up our world.
I looked up at the big evergreen in my yard on a cold winter's eve and there she was, lighing the top as though she was making a real star touch it's very tip. Snowflakes just begin to drift through the sky. A little squirrel in the tree is witness. You'll notice that she is warmly dressed, for a fearie! It has been an early winter, and it was a cold night when I had this vision.
Painted in acrylics on illustration 9.5" x 14.5" board.

Surprise Faerie
This faerie zooms down at us from high up in the sky with the hopes of scaring us! He was quite successful in my case. He rolled around on the ground laughing his head off for several minutes before flying off in search of his next victim.

Stark Faerie
A faerie walking through the forest after all the leaves have fallen, leaving the trees as stark as she is. The forest floor appears to be coming alive, menacingly pushing upward and outward.

Rage
I'm not sure what set this dragon into such a destructive rage. It could have been because some one or thing stole her eggs or destroyed her home. There's always a reason! A dragon has often been accused of guarding gems, jewels and human treasures. The only thing precious to them is their family and their flock. (I think you'd call it a flock?)
