Ocean Kingdom
I drove my car that afternoon,
And I could see no moon.
The clouds rippled in the sky.
I no longer had to ask why.
Beneath those rippled clouds, all one,
I felt like a fish in the ocean.
Swimming deep beneath those murky waters,
Flowing helplessly with the course.
Following the others in the school,
Feeling trapped in an aquarium or a pool.
There’s no one I can swim to, just from.
I live here in this Ocean Kingdom,
Where I cannot trust my leaders,
Nor my classmates, nor my neighbours.
And yet, day to day, I get by,
Because I look up to the sky.
That night I got out of my car,
To search the night for a star.
The clouds rippled in the sky,
Lifted after they had a good cry.
