Harbinger Faerie

This faerie walks the first forest by moonlight, as it streams through the trees behind her. Her familiar, her friend the owl, flies towards her with a message. According to myths from many lands, the owl is the harbinger of death - a bad omen. But we know that's just myth, right! Owls are wise creatures, just like this faerie.

Yes, it's Whoopi Goldberg's face. I am a fan and felt inspired to paint that amazing face. She's an intelligent, talented woman with an incredible ability to communicate. Whoopi certainly shows great patience and diplomacy on 'the View'.

I'm not so sure she's seen the painting. I know she's not one for dresses, but I'm sure she'd be grateful I didn't paint her as a full frontal nude. If and when she does see it, I hope she appreciates the wise and powerful being she is portrayed as. She has the faerie attitude, after all.

It's painted in oils on an 24" x 36" canvas.
