Pencil drawing of Kate Hepburn

Portrait of Katherine Hepburn

Yeah, I know! This isn't a celtic knot design either! I wanted to share it with fellow Hepburn fans though. I drew her portrait in pencil for my drawing workbook, "Anyone Can Draw in Ten Sessions". Katherine Hepburn was the first of her kind. She attracted a lot of attention off stage for wearing slacks and not wearing make-up in public. These days that's just funny! She wouldn't play the Hollywood game, and still continued to be a grand success. She was known for portraying strong women at a time when such images were supposed to be box office poison. She dies at 96.
I love her for her strong character and that face! Chiselled beauty. She was raised to speak her mind, develop it fully, and exercise her body so no matter what, she could find and reach her full potential. (Boy oh boy, I could exercise more!).
I drew this in pencil on 12" x 19" acid free paper.
